Safety and Security Features of the Girls on the Run 5k:
- 5k Course Closed to All Traffic
- 5k Course manned with ample volunteers and police
- All volunteers undergo a background check
- Each girl has a designated adult running buddy who motivates them and encourages them to the finish line
- EMS/Rescue Squad onsite in case of emergency
- Over 40 CPR/first aid certified volunteers on site during event
- Two water stops on the 5k course with water also at the finish line
